Daniel Kasperan sets pace for Boys Cross Country season.
Niles West Invite
With a time of 15:32.01 for three miles, Marian Catholic’s Daniel Kasperan finished 17th among 508 runners to lead the Spartans to 784 points and a 28th place team finish in the Niles West Savage Invite. Peyton Stoffregen was 59th overall in 16:21.80 for the Spartans, who also got scoring from Shawn Walton (19:42.05), Jeremiah Bolar (20:02.65) and Marc Patterson (20:59.07).
Tinley Park Invit
Daniel Kasperan (16:25.10 for three miles, third overall) and Peyton Stoffregen (17:17.60, 10th) each notched top 10 finished on Sept. 28 at the Tinley Park Invite, leading Marian Catholic (148 score) to a fifth-place team finish. Shawn Walton was 52nd in 20:57.20 for the Spartans, who also got scoring from Jeremiah Bolar (21:34.60) and Marc Patterson (21:36.80).
Marian Quad
Peyton Stoffregen (18:35.46) and Daniel Kasperan (18:35.85) finished first and second on Sept. 18 to lead the way for Marian Catholic in a home quad with Bloom, Homewood-Flossmoor and Rich Township. The Spartans finished third behind Bloom and H-F, and ahead of Rich Township.Jeremiah Bolar was 28th overall in 22:41.38 for the Spartans, who also got team scoring from Shawn Walton (23:05.04) and Marc Patterson (23:30.91).
DePaul Prep Invite
Marian Catholic’s Daniel Kasperan timed 15:38.60 for three miles to finish third overall in the 255-runner DePaul Prep Invitational on Sept. 14. Jeremiah Bolar clocked 21:08.48 to help the Spartans score 675 to finish 26th overall, while Marian also got scoring from Jonah Greenwood (22:22.76), Marc Patterson (22:51.54) and Isaiah Michel (23:29.44).
Marian Home Meet
With a time of 17:41.48 for three miles, Marian Catholic’s Daniel Kasperan captured first place on Sept. 10 in the Spartans’ home meet with Andrean, Peotone, St. Rita and Southland Prep. Jeremiah Bolar (15th, 22:09.11) and Marc Patterson (17th, 23:50.42) also finished in the top 20 to help lead the Spartans to fourth place. Marian also got scoring from Tyler Baker-Bennett (24;14.50) and Jonah Greenwood (24:32.65).
TF South Invite
Daniel Kasperan was third in 16:04.34 for three miles and Peyton Stoffregen sixth in 16:40.95, leading Marian Catholic to 282 points and 10th place in the 24-school TF South Invite at North Creek Meadow on Sept. 8. The Spartans also got scoring from Jeremiah Bolar (20:55.67), Marc Patterson (22:32.89) and Isaiah Michel (23:17.91).
Providence Meet
Daniel Kasperan timed 18:11.46 for three miles and Peyton Stoffregen finished in 18:11.74 to finish second and third, respectively, in the five-school Providence Catholic season-opening meet. on Aug. 29
