Marian Catholic’s fencing team achieved commendable results at the Stevenson Invite on November 16, with Martin Leedy securing a sixth-place finish and Abigail Wozniak placing eighth in women’s foil.
According to the team’s performance records, Leedy earned his second medal of the season with a solid showing in men’s sabre. Wozniak also performed well, earning her spot in the top 10 in women’s foil. Both fencers led the Spartans at this prestigious tournament.
In addition to these medalists, several other members of the Spartans’ team delivered notable performances. A group of fencers broke into the top 16 for the first time. In varsity epee, Noah Russell and Evelyn Rohn each reached this milestone for the first time in their high school careers, while Jeirmyri Liddell achieved his second consecutive top-16 finish.
In junior varsity events, Daniel Becerra continued his strong season by also placing in the top 16 for the second time this year.
