Marian Catholic boys’ basketball team secured a 59-43 victory over St. Patrick in the East Suburban Catholic Conference play on Friday night. The game was highlighted by Delan Davis, who scored a game-high 22 points.
According to the match report, the Spartans (18-6, 3-2 ESCC) took control during the second and third quarters with a 37-21 advantage after an initially tied game. Zack Sharkey contributed 12 points, while Landon Mays added nine. Tyler Jolly and Jordan Walker each scored six points, and Terrell Morton played a key role in defense.
The team succeeded in making seven three-pointers, with Davis, Sharkey, Walker, and Jolly all scoring from beyond the arc. They also achieved a free-throw shooting percentage of 72.7% (8 of 11).
St. Patrick (16-6) saw Kaden Breland lead with 11 points and Caleb Hawkins finish with 12. Despite a competitive first quarter, the Shamrocks fell behind at halftime with a score of 34-24 and were unable to recover.
Marian Catholic aims to extend its winning streak to five games when it returns to action next week.
