Marian Catholic continued their successful season, advancing to a 13-5 record with a 59-53 victory over Christ the King in a nonconference basketball game.

According to the game’s statistics, the Spartans were led by Zack Sharkey, who scored 16 points, and Landon Mays, who added 10. The team established a commanding 33-18 lead by halftime and managed to fend off a second-half rally from Christ the King to secure the win. Additional contributions came from Delan Davis and Tyler Jolly, each scoring nine points, while Terrell Morton and Kaz Okonkwo contributed six points apiece.

Christ the King’s performance was highlighted by Robert Buford’s 12 points, which included four three-pointers. Despite McClure’s contribution of 17 points, the Royals faced challenges with shooting efficiency. They completed only 18 of their 50 field goal attempts (36%), whereas Marian achieved a higher shooting percentage with 24 out of 54 attempts (44%).

The match saw both teams encountering foul issues; Marian finished with 18 fouls and Christ the King had 22. Free-throw shooting was also problematic for both sides: Marian converted nine out of fifteen attempts (60%), while Christ the King made eleven out of twenty (55%).

Marian Catholic has now won four of their last five games, maintaining a strong trajectory this season.
