The Marian Catholic Spartans dropped a 38–33 decision to the Marist RedHawks in a girls varsity basketball conference matchup. Despite a strong defensive effort, Marian Catholic was unable to overcome Marist’s late-game execution.
The game occurred on January 28 at Marian Catholic High School. According to reports, Marian Catholic remained competitive throughout the match, managing to contain Marist’s scoring. The Spartans endeavored to generate offense against a pressuring defense and executed several key stops to maintain proximity in the score during the closing stages. Ty Jackson led Marian Catholic offensively this season as the team continued their relentless efforts through all four quarters.
Looking ahead, Marian Catholic will host Nazareth Academy in another conference varsity girls basketball game on February 4. Previously, on January 10, Marian Catholic faced Nazareth Academy and suffered a 52–35 loss in a conference game held at Nazareth Academy.
