Lily Rafferty has led the Spartans in for times in the 3-mile race, but many other runners have contributed to a solid season.
Niles West Invitational
Lily Raftery timed 22:23.70 for three miles on Oct. 5 to top Marian Catholic with a 185th place finish in the 441-runner Niles West Invitational. The Spartans were also represented by Lucia Casillas (28:15.43) and Yessenia Arce (29:17.53).
Tinley Park Invite
Lily Raftery timed 25:32.40 for three miles on Sept. 28 in the Tinley Park Invite to lead Marian Catholic, which finished 11th overall with 308 points. The Spartans also got scoring from Maeghan Tomaka (26:21.30), Lucia Casillas (30:26.60), Yessenia Arce (32:34.90) and Jayla Small (36:23.30).
Marian Catholic Tri-Meet
Lily Raftery timed 25:13.95 for three miles to earn second place overall on Sept. 18, as Marian Catholic hosted Bloom and Rich Township in a triangular. Natalia Watson (11th, 28:54.60) and Lucia Casillas (13th, 29:25.50) also cracked the top 15 for Marian, which fell to the Blazing Trojans and Raptors. The Spartans’ team scoring was rounded out by Jayla Small (34:08.31) and Liliana Draus (34:31.07).
DePaul Prep Invite
Lily Raftery earned 87th overall with a clocking of 23:54.67 for three miles to sparks Marian Catholic to 504 team points and 18th place in the DePaul Prep Invite on Sept. 14. Lucia Casillas added a 29:12.98 finish for the Spartans, who also got scoring from Natalia Watson (30:18.95), Yessenia Arce (31:05.22) and Jayla Small (35:48.32).
Chicago Heights Meet
Sept. 10- Marian Catholic invited competition from Andrean, Peotone and Southland Prep for quad action on Sept. 10 in Chicago Heights. The Spartans had a pair of top 10 finishers in Lucia Casillas (ninth, 31:11.20) and Natalia Watson (10th, 33:22.60).
